I am currently using cloth diapers and wipes. Also, instead of buying baby food for my daughter, I make it– so no jars are wasted!!

We are very diligent about using our yard waste at home for everything we can – food, paper towels, etc.
Also, seattletithe.com has a summer camp (not really a camp – just an hour and a half, one-day class) to teach toddlers about gardening and compost. We’re going this summer to learn about worms and how to build our own compost bin. Can’t wait!

I use cloth in our home instead of paper… cuts down on paper towels and cloth wipes. Also we do clothing swaps with our friends so we have to buy less for our little ones. They outgrow clothes so quickly anyway!

My daughter and I plant a garden and grow our own veggies and herbs. This year we are also making our own compost to use in our garden later. It is important to show her how we can use food scraps etc to make something else instead of throwing it away.
We reycycle too and she loves to help me put all the recycle in the bin. She will find things in the house that need to be recycled and tell me. I am glad I can teach her how to take care of the earth .

We use cloth diapers most of the time and also use un-paper towels. We made our own baby food, too. We have a large garden (or will soon… we’re planting soon!), so that helps conserve in many ways!

shopping totes to the store, use glass baby bottles, eat all organic meat fruits and dairy, carry around Metal water bottle & use almost all
Eco friendly cleaners.
I want to make sure we do our part to sustain the planet so our children have a beautiful place to raise THEIR children and grandchildren in!!!

I reuse products such as taking used dryer sheets to clean the grooves at the base of my windows and to clean my shower. I have also been switching to all natural cleaning products as my old ones run out.
I teach my son to recycle. He is only two but likes to throw things away, so I show him where paper and plastic recycling bins are for him to throw those products away.

We obviously use cloth diapers, we use the CFL bulbs in every lighting fixture, reusable shopping bags about 85% of the time (sometimes I forget to grab them) and if I get the plastic grocery bags I always reuse them and I never use paper towels. We recycle a ton!
I never used to ‘believe’ in recycling or going green or using anything organic until I had my daughter. Now it seems worth it…

I use cloth diapers, reusable shopping bags (when I don’t forget them at home), we recycle at home, compost at home, have a pesticide free garden and lawn.

We use cloth diapers and cloth wipes full time and practice part time elimination communication. We line dry our cloth diapers and also use cold water for most of our laundry. We recycle and try to use reusable products for cleaning, etc. instead of paper whenever possible. We love our sweet little daughter and want to help take care of the earth so that it will be as nice as possible for her generation. Happy Earth Day!

We use reusable bags, cloth diapers and wipes, are planning a garden, recycle at least half of what comes into our house, try and conserve water by flushing less, etc. etc. we do our very best!

I use cloth diapers and wipes, green cleaning products like Shaklee, cloth grocery bags, cloth napkins and don’t use paper towels.
I tell my kids that we have to take care of things we are trusted with, toys and Earth alike!

I cloth diaper, use reusable shopping bags, try to conserve energy and water and I’m teaching my little ones not to little, pick up trash and keep the outdoors cleaned up.

Hmmm well, we cloth diaper, line dry whenever possible, use a washer ball and dryer balls cloth wipes, cook from scratch, yard sale and thrift store shopping, wow…. the list would continue if I had the time!!

Other than CDing, we use cloth towels instead of paper towels/napkins, reusable containers instead of plastic baggies, cloth grocery bags (when I remember them!), make our own baby food and breastfeed (less plastic & glass waste), and line dry our diapers when the weather permits.

We cloth diaper and make our own baby food so that all of those glass bottles arent wasted….besides the food is so much better homemade!

Our biggest earth-conscious choice is definitely cloth diapering our son. I love being a cloth diapering mom! We also grow vegetables in our own garden each summer, buy beef from grass-raised animals, and try to support local organic growers.

We use reusable bags for grocery shopping and any plastic bags that do make it into our house are reused for bathroom trash and picking up the dog poo and cat litter! No bottled water (bring two reusable jugs to work), just purchased an HE washer and dryer (old one bit the dust), make my own laundry detergent. Anything that we are ready to get rid of first gets listed on craigslist, then sent to Goodwill instead of tossed in the trash.

we’re cloth diapering our baby boy!!! (including cloth wipes) we use rockin’ green detergent it’s amazing for cloth diapers and its phosphate free! we aslo carry our klean kanteens instead of buying water bottles while we’re out! and use reusable sandwhich containers/bags!!! we try to not buy things with extra packaging or disposable things!!!! We use our clothes drying rack and the line in the summer! We teach our children how to treat the planet!!!

We compost, use cloth diapers, cloth wipes, cloth napkins, I use a diva cup and cloth panty liners and we use reuseable bags as well as glass or stainless steel storage containers as often as possible.

Whenever we wash hands/take a bath/use water, I’m always ALWAYS stressing that we should be careful not to waste water. Living in Northern California for a year really made me appreciate what a precious resource water is and I cringe when I see it running down the drain.
I also started using the wipes I had originally bought as cloth diaper wipes as face/nose wipes (they weren’t used extensively for diaper wipes and I did wash/bleach them well!!) And we give them each a cloth napkin at dinner, showing them how to clean up after themselves.

We cloth diaper, breastfeed, try to reuse anything around the house we can(I make storage containers out of shoe boxes and tissue paper), recycle our cans(It costs money to recycle other products here)

Well, aside from using cloth diapers and wipes, we use washcloths instead of paper towels for at the table and cleaning. We reuse everything we can. What can’t be reused, we try recycle or compost. We try to conserve as much electricity and gas. I’m sure there is a lot more that I just can’t think of right now, too.

We use cloth!! I know that seems like a cheesy answer but right now we are on vacation in florida and just watching the disposables pile up. My husband just mentioned it, actually. SICK. Smelly and they will just end up sitting in a landfill somewhere. So gross.

We use cloth diapers and wipes. We have an awesome single stream recycling program that is county wide. We can throw everything from paper, glass, cans and plastics #1-7 in to one poly cart. We compost, have a garden and use reusable grocery bags. We use our clothesline whenever possible. I am trying to get my husband to cut down on his obsession with paper towels too.
Almost all of my sons clothes are hand-me-downs or come from garage sales, what doesn’t is something one of his grandmas has seen and can’t resist. 😉
At 20 mos, if we ask him to put something in the recycle, trash or compost, he knows what goes where.

I started cloth diapering about a month ago, I use the re-useable store bags, we grow our own garden, we unplug appliances when not in use too, we also use rags for spills! Im trying to teach my kids not to waste so much and to be kind to the earth.

We use cloth diapers, cloth wipes, homemade wipe water from items we already have on hand and we keep them in containers that we already have on hand, as well. We make sure to unplug things when we’re not using them and turn off lights when we leave a room or the house. We plant our own food, when we can and use reusable products anytime their available. We use a water machine in our home instead of buying bottled water.
We also go to the farmers market every saturday and buy there instead of at the grocery store.
We also use old items we have on hand to make new items. Use old fabric from items such as sweaters, blankets, shirts, etc, to use to make things like reusable shopping bags, floor blankets, etc.
We’re the only ones who can teach our children to be earth friendly and we’re doing anything and everything we can, on our end.

I use cloth diapers , cloth wipes/family cloth , mama cloth , re-usable containers or bags whenever possible. I teach the kids to re-use paper from school and cereal boxes etc for their crafts or they go into recycling and I always keep and reuse containers from margarine , peanut butter or whatever else that comes in a container.

I would say the number one way that I’m trying to be a good steward of the earth is by using cloth diapers. I have also been using more earth friendly cleaning products and trying to be better about recycling.

we try to use and reuse everything. old socks? the kids wear them over their hands to dust. we use egg cartons and stuff for crafts. i host kid/baby gear and clothing swaps at our house 2 times a year. we freecycle and handmedown. we try hard to not use ziploc bags. we line dry about 90% of the time, year round. we do what we can!!

I try to recycle as much as possible. We use cloth napkins, we recycle clothes. My sis and I trade clothes for the children and pass down to the next one in line. We take our 6 year old to the recycle center and let him help us sort and put the trash where it belongs, teaching him is so important and will become second nature. We also cloth diaper & use cloth wipes. I try to be as environmentally conscience as I can and pass that on to my boys. Thanks and Happy Earth Day!!!

We’re good stewards by practicing what we preach. We have eliminated household chemicals and plastics. We teach the babies to recycle and to respect. We of course use cloth diapers and will continue to take the road less traveled but much greener:)

We recycle as much as possible, am stocking up cloth diapers & wipes for our pending arrival, line dry everything (no dryer), walk everywhere or public transportation (no car), use re-usable shopping bags & water bottles, take it easy on electricity usage, & use stuff like vinegar for household cleaning.

We have cloth diapered for a year now. We use natural cleaners and detergents. We participate in our local curbside recycling program. We also recycle our pop cans and bottles at our local grocery store.

My 2 and 1/2 year old son helps us recycle! He’s so good at it and now when I ask him to “throw” something away, he assumes it goes in the recycle bin, not the trash bin! I’m so proud that we are teaching him this young how to protect our Earth. Also, when we are out for a walk he will point out garbage and tell me it should be thrown away! I just think that is fabulous for a 2 and 1/2 year old!

We use cloth diapers as well. We also try to find ways to reuse items that we normally would throw away. My 5 year old daughter’s mantra has been “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” for months. She says it at least 10 times a day!

We are actively switching to all organic and local. We have our toddler in cloth diapers. We recycle or reuse over 90% of our waste and enjoy a minimalistic lifestyle. Our garden and land are our haven and we raise bees organically and sustainably. Happy Earth Day!

We try to reuse and recycle as much as we can. For instance, I purchase local chocolate milk that is sold in gallon glass jugs. I then reuse the glass jugs as flower vases and give as gifts. They’re beautiful!
Growing up, I always remember my mom using paper plates constantly. Not us. I love my dishes and we use them regularly. My mom always tries to get me to use disposable plates when they come over for dinner, but I ignore it.

We use cloth napkins and teach our 4 year old about ‘Mother Earth’ – she knows how to turn off the water while brushing her teeth and how to put empty tp rolls in the recycle bin. We also went to real dishes for camping instead of throw aways!

The way I try to help the enviroment is by using cloth diapers, that’s my only thing to teach my daughter sinces she’s 3 month’s old. I personally I have a goal to fill up my blue recycling container every two weeks. I make sure every piece of paper is taken off packages and recycled. Since you can’t put shredded paper in the blue recycle bins I give that to my parents to put in the yard waste bin.

I try my best to ensure my future generations will have a good earth. I cloth diaper, use cloth wipes, use mama pads and diva cup, cloth napkins (it drive my MIL nuts that we don’t have napkins and papertowels in the kitchen). I am also working on sewing some cloth klenex tissue. We only put out one can of garbage every 3 weeks. We recycle as much as we can. It is a family project with the same goal. Spend less money and save the Earth.

I teach my kids how to recycle and tell them why we have too! We use reusable cloth lunch bags and reusable containers instead of plastic bags. We bring our own reusable bags for shopping and if we forget them we buy only what we can carry WITHOUT those store bags!

lets see my little man is young so he doesn’t quite get it yet, but he does help me to recycle. He knows that paper goes in one can. He askes if it trash before he throws in the garbage. WE use reusuable bags for grocery shopping. I also participate in freecycle and give my unused items away rather than putting them in trash. And most of all we cloth diaper and love it!

I try and be more aware of my carbon footprint each day. I started with cloth diapering and then moved on to unpaper towels, mama cloth and a diva cup…. I NEVER thought I would have used any of these products a few years ago and now I have a hard time understanding why everyone doesn’t!! My 11 stepdaughter is becoming more aware secondary to my everyday actions and already expressed and interest in CDing one day. My son has an enormous love of all things nature… I think that he is well on his way to following in his mom’s footsteps!
